The Alberta Human Rights Commission is pleased to host the annual conference of the Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies (CASHRA) in Calgary, Alberta from June 13 to 15, 2011. On behalf of CASHRA, the Alberta Human Rights Commission cordially invites representatives of community organizations, the private and public sectors, and the business community to join CASHRA in Calgary in June 2011 for an engaging and energizing conference.

This national human rights conference will identify and explore the current realities related to human rights, diversity and inclusion in Canada. Our conference goal is to provide a strong learning experience that focuses on sharing knowledge and expertise across jurisdictions and sectors. It will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to move forward to build discrimination-free welcoming and inclusive communities and workplaces that foster equality.

CASHRA (Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies) is the national association of Canada's statutory agencies charged with administering federal, provincial and territorial human rights legislation. Its goals are to foster collaboration among its members and to serve as a national voice on human rights issues of common concern. Each year, a different jurisdiction hosts CASHRA's annual conference. In 2011, the Alberta Human Rights Commission is the host.

Theme: The 2011 conference theme is Human Rights in Canada: New Realities, New Directions. Conference sessions will focus on new realities related to human rights, diversity and inclusion in Canada and on new directions in building discrimination-free welcoming and inclusive communities and workplaces. Location and dates: The 2011 CASHRA (Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies) conference will be held in Calgary, Alberta from June 13th to June 15th, 2011. A full-day post-conference education session will follow on June 16.
